Amanda Kozlowski, LCSW, CADC

she/her/hers

Introduction:

Hi there! I'm Amanda, and I'm really glad you're here. Life is hard, and we don't need to navigate it alone (and often we find it's not enough to just talk with our family and friends). I'm a therapist who helps adolescents and adults (12+) create a life that isn’t so painful and overwhelming.

As human beings we can do hard things and tolerate difficult situations, AND we also have our limitations. Recognizing our limitations helps us identify important changes we can make in our life so that we can maintain sanity and feel like we are living our life rather than being stuck on autopilot. My approach is to help you understand the function of your thoughts, emotions, and physiological symptoms so that you can explore them and figure out what it is that they are trying to communicate to you. You will learn new ways to manage emotions and worries, navigate conflict in relationships, cope with painful experiences, and adopt healthier behaviors.

Therapy is an opportunity for incredible self-growth and understanding. And, it's absolutely okay to be unsure about this and take it one session at a time. I've got your back from day one. Please reach out to schedule a free phone consultation or an initial session. (Other fyi things about me: enjoys dogs, forest preserves, books, and talking to my plants).
